Off to Ireland – Brief Look at Dublin

Sunday we woke from a restful sleep, Bernie a tad early.  Ate, orged, out to Glasgow Airport onto a turboprop to Dublin.  Smooth flight, easy connection, off to our hotel. Quick turn-around, dropped our bags & went on a brief bus tour of the city.

Dublin is a city of painted doors, interesting buildings, bridges, statues & so much history.  A fair bit of it rather tragic.

Really enjoyed our look at Trinity College and the book of Kells.  Created during the 6th century – surrounded by books centuries old.  The Long Room, an immense library, visually overpowering.

Back to our hotel, the Burlington, for a drink, light meal and a brief overview of our upcoming tour.  Met some interesting, friendly people already.  Very excited about the upcoming adventure.

More to follow …
