Trevi Fountain
Pantheon
Piazza Navona
Today was a hot (36C)
but otherwise lovely day. Rather relaxing, tried to gear down a bit. We got on
the Hop On / Hop Off bus tour around 9:30, saw a few more interesting parts of
the Eternal City. Today was an E.U. holiday so lots of things were closed and
our bus route was altered slightly but we adjusted our route and pace
accordingly. Enjoyed a leisurely strole from the stop at the Fori Imperiali to
Trevi Foundation; over to the Pantheon and next to the Piazza Navona. Met all sorts of nice people; would you
believe three different couples from Chicago, IL on their honeymoon? Other kind
Americans (N.Y. state, Florida, Texas), a bunch of Canadians (Vancouver,
Toronto, Calgary) and a very friendly family from Osaka, Japan. Relaxing
afternoon, packed and prepared for our flight to Athens tomorrow finished with
a final sidewalk supper in Rome. Been quite the visit – next, on to Greece!
